¢ POLISH SCENE REPORT
¼
written by Cromax/Alchemy
³
This - for sure uncomplete - Polish
scene report is brought to You by
Cromax of Alchemy. I decided to sort
all groups alphabeticaly, but
unfortunetly my group is the first
one... It is only because of the
name... Oh, there's yet something -
sorry to all PPL, for any errors or
facts do not matching with the
truth... Ok, let's begin!
¢ ALCHEMY
¹
Hmmm... What can I say? I will tell
all the thrut. Alchemy was found...
about three years ago (I am not quiet
sure about it). Their first relase
was demo called "Toxic Ziemniak"
(what means "Trujacy Potato"). After
some time Alchemy made second - and
till now last one - demo, called
"Marchewki" ("Carrots" this time...).
It tooks second place on Warsaw
Copy-Party '92. Then I (Cromax)
joined Alchemy. Time passed, and
nothing was relased. Some months
ago, we start to issue zine, called
"Zasmashka". It is all Polish, so it
isn't so popular (or rather it's
unknown) for other countries. Now
we're working at second issue of
"Zasmashka"...
³Some known members: Axel, Backfire,
Bob, Cromax, Exolon, Frodo,
Saggitarius , Tiptop and Vico
¶¢ APPLAUSE
¹
Story of this group is a little bit
complicated. First - some of
Applause's members were in Grace PL -
Polish division of Grace (but it
died) and some in other group called
"Future Revolution". I don't know
exists FR anymore, but I haven't
heard about them for a very long
time. FR was issuing zine "Next
Life" - cool and full of humour mag.
When FR died (?) some guys from FR
and Grace PL found new group -
Applause namely. They made some
intros, but more important thing is,
that they have organized party in may
(probably; I have weak memory). Some
guys claims, that this party was bad
organized, some don't. I can't say
anything about it, because I wasn't
present there... Now they start
issuing another zine "Thing". It's
also in English language, so You can
get it too!
³Some known members: Thorgal.
¢ DEFORM
¹
It is (or was) quiet big group.
Their "Deformations" - first demo -
tooks first place on Warsaw CP '92.
Another their products are: "Weekend
Dance", "Deform Megamix", "Music
Disk", "Slide Show". Deform came to
life by fusion of some small groups:
Hell Order Team, Zack Team, aaaand...
¶some other groups... Oh, it is worth
to add, that H.O.T. made first
"Power of inspiration" and than
joined with other groups.
³Some members: Musashi, Pluton, Seq.
¢ FLUFFY BEARS
¹
I exactly know this group from two
productions - one with famous "Anti
Atari Song" and from another sound
disk - "Masturbation". I don't know
anything else about them, I don't
even knoe exesit they at all...
¢ FLYING COW(S)
¹
A new group founded about one year
ago (?). Some demos (sorry, I don't
know names) and sound disk - "Hunt
for the red kret" (mole). Nothing
about members or past...
¢ INVESTATION
¹
It is one from older group in Poland
(before I joined Alchemy, I was in
Investation). First thing they made
was zine - "Fat Agnus". Now there's
14 issues and everyting says, they
will continue their work. They made
some intros, file demos ("Optical
Race 1, 2", "Ingis") and - of course
- demos ("Hydra" and something about
"Heaven", but I don't know what...).
³Some known Members: Berserker, Dan,
Dr.D, M-Iron, Tap and Ziemniak
¶¢ JOKER
¹
Legendary group... Demos: Lucky
Luck (it was probably their first
demo... but I still have it!), The
Return, Party-zanci, Art Disk and
many sound disks.
³Some known members: Dalthon, GBH,
Kadi, Peters, Rafii and Rys).
¢ LUNATIC ASYLUM
¹
I don't know have they any
productions, but I am in contact with
it's member - Macias . Probably LA
and Alchemy will organize a VeRy
StraNgE and unnormal party in may '94
(in Poland). Look for invitation
intro - comming soon!
¢ LUZERS
¹
Luzers but no loosers. Some wired
guys. They are issuing - sometimes -
different zines. First it was
"Alamakota", then "Lamataoka" and now
"Paper White". I herad some rumors,
that they quit issuing Paper White
and start to issue new mag. They
also made some demos - "Defene cos
tam".
³Some known members: Black, Conrad
and Pavelo
¢ MAD ELKS
¹
Quite new group, but very popular.
Their "Technological Dead" is known
all around thw world. Lately they
¶organized "Polish Autumn Party", but
- in my opinion - it was very bad
organized.
³Some members: Kopara, Qwerty
¢ OLD BULLS
¹
Pretty active group. Many demos -
"Damage", "Impulse", "Xenium",
"Fugazi", "Autobiography" also sound
disks - "Sigh", "Orgasm", "Illusion".
So, I can not say, that "quantity is
over quality". All productions
(maybe exept "Xenium") are good, its
has interesting design. Old Bulls
contains two divisions - TILT and Gel
Dezign. Actually member list (from
Amigowiec 5-6/93): Aiwen, Arcus,
Bycek, Blind, Brunner, G.B., Ghengis,
Ghost, Mikie, Processor, Sator,
Shean, The Bill, The Generat, The
Spy, Venom, Vindemiatrix, Walker,
from TILT: Bukka, Hudi, Sabe and
from Gel: Accord and Zefir.
¢ PIC SAINT LOUP
¹
Strange group. PSL consists only of
musician. The make music for other
groups. Some members: Cloo, Scorpik
¢ SUSPECT
¹
Well known group, but I can not say,
their produtions belongs to the
bests... They have relased some
demos - "Immortal visions" won demo
competition on Mountain Beer Party in
Zywiec '92. Other demos:
¶"Alternative Reality", "Music Tracks"
(sound disk), "Varathron". Main
organizer of Suspect - Kalosz other
members: Kane , BFA andfor sure some
other guys...
¢ UNION
¹
I have heard, that this group already
died. Some guys of Union joined
Mystic. Union was founded by fusion
some guys from different groups:
from Action Direct, Deform, G-Force,
legendary Katharsis and from Suspect.
I don't know exist Union anymore...
They are (were?) issuing two mags:
"Zig Zag" and "Poczytaj mi mamo"
(something like "Read to me mum").
Theres another mag "Poland B", but I
don't know which group issue it.
Probably Union too, but I am not
quiet sure...
¢ W.F.M.H.
¹
Also one from older formations in
Poland. W.F.M.H. means World
Federation of Mad Hackers. Some cool
demos: "Faster than Hell",
"Software".
³Some members: Robin, Zybul
²There for sure are many, many more
formations in Poland, but they are to
unknown (for me) or I forgot to
mention someone or some groups don't
exists at presence... Sorry to
everybody, who has been missed or I
wrote something wrong about him... I
do my best.
